Here are a couple of walking-related events taking place next week:

Walk this Way

“Walk this Way” is an exhibit at the Design Exchange that opened during the Walk21 conference at the beginning of October. Curated by Chris Hardwicke and designed by Magda Wojtyra and Marc Ngui, it highlights projects that exemplify the resurgence in walking as a mode of transportation, from large projects like Vancouver’s Transit Village to grassroots movements like Toronto’s Streets are for People.

There will be a curator’s talk on Tuesday, October 30, noon — 1:00 pm (free with admission to the Design Exchange).

3 Bridges Forum

On Nov. 1, Councillor Paula Fletcher is hosting a community forum on 3 bridges in Ward 30 (that also affect routes beyond her ward).

1. Dundas Bridge
2. Unwin Bridge Future
3. West Donlands/Eastern Ave Bridge

The meeting will take place on Thursday, November 1st at 7:00 p.m. at Dundas St. Public School, 935 Dundas St. East, (Located Between Broadview and Boulton Ave)

Councillor Fletcher writes:

At this forum I will be seeking your input on pedestrian and cycling infrastructure for these 3 bridges. .

I have invited Councillor Glen De Baeremaeker, Chair of the Public Works and Infrastructure Committee. Also on hand will be transportation staff to give presentations and answer your questions.

  1. Speaking of walking events (of a sort), I’m still waiting for some fuller-itinerary report from Will Self’s walk-from-the-airport, etc. (A cuppla newspaper articles aren’t enough.)
