Release: Grandview Park official re-opening – Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011

After a long summer of phased transformations, Grandview Park will officially reopen on September 17.

Residents and media are invited to join Vancouver South MP Wai Young, Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson and the Vancouver Park Board at the official opening of the redesigned Grandview Park.

Upgrades to the 0.89 hectare (2.2 acres) park include a new playground, pathways, stage, sport/bike polo court, field house with accessible washrooms, lawns, gardens and restored cenotaph area.

The $2 million park redesign project, including the new field house, was supported in part by the Government of Canada through the Recreational Infrastructure Canada program.
