On Wednesday night Spacing was happy to walk away with two terrific awards from the Canadian Society of Magazine Editors — one for 2007 Small Magazine of the Year, and the other for 2007 Magazine Editor of the Year to Matthew Blackett and Dale Duncan!

While the editors get to accept the awards, much of the congratulations has to go to Spacing’s contributors for making the magazine such a success. Also, our faithful readers have a lot to do with this too — you have spread the good word about Spacing to your friends, co-workers, and online acquaintances. Thanks.

  1. Congratulations! Our end of the bargain is the easy part: we can’t keep to ourselves how much the magazine rules.

  2. Good work and congratulations! I’ve always enjoyed Spacing magazine.

So early in the life of the magazine and you get this award. That’s a very high compliment from your peers.

    Once again, congratulations!

  3. Hey, yay! It’s good to see all your hard work recognized in the magazine industry. Whoopee!

  4. Congratulations, Spacing! That’s great news.

  5. Yeah!

Wonderful to hear and well deserved.

  6. Congrats, Matt and Dale.

Also under the heading of awards for Matt: I just returned from the luncheon where Matt accepted the Canadian Urban Institute award for City Soul so congratulations for that, too. The applause for Matt’s acceptance speech, which included a tribute to the support he received from Herb Carnegie’s Future Aces foundation, was second only to the applause for Mr. Carnegie himself.

  7. Congrats Spacing team! And nice photo. I thought Dale was male, but no, she is a pretty lady, and Mattb is a cutie.

  8. yayayayayayayaya! i love it. very good news indeed. congratulations!
