You have until Sunday to see Luminato installation of The Encampment at Fort York. 200 tents arranged within the fort walls each contain an installation by over 100 different artists. Fort York, on “regular” days, has one of the best views of the city — a bit of 1812 (and later) surrounded by our constantly-changing skyscraper skyline. Here’s a rare chance to see it as the sun goes down and into the night. The Encampment is open from 7:30 – 11:00 PM — if you come before you’re welcome to bring a picnic and spread out on the ground while waiting for the tents to open. The photos here were taken by me (on the ground) and from the air by Tim Stewart.

If you head up onto the fort’s fortifications, you may see some of the resident groundhogs.
